    Thank you all for the fantastic event…the ambience, the quality of the hor d’ouevres, the choice of wines, and the efficiency, demeanor, and courtesy of all your staff are unsurpassed in my book…Jeff, we also appreciate that Glennpeter Diamond Centre is so willing to take part in giving back to the community through sponsoring events like this. What a treat to have this all so professionally done. Please extend a BIG THANK YOU to all your staff who worked that evening. I honestly totally lost track of time (sign of very successful event?). We all appreciated everyone being so hospitable and accommodating…how fortunate the Diamond Centre is to have such a great group of employees!

    A carat is an unit of weight for diamonds and other gemstones. One carat is equal to 200 milligrams. To put this in perspective, one pound equals 453 grams, or 453,000 milligrams. So, a person weighing 170 pounds would weigh 385,050-carats. CT is the common abbreviation used by the jewelry industry.

    On the other hand a karat is an ancient unit used to measure the purity of gold. “24 karat” refers to pure gold, which is not often used in jewelry because it is very soft. Gold is usually mixed with other metals to make it harder or modify its color. So if a piece of jewelry is made of metal that is 18 parts gold and 6 parts copper, that is 18-karat gold.
