    Glennpeter’s “Wall of Love”

Have you ever attended a charity event at Glennpeter Diamond Centre in Albany?  As you may know, Glennpeter hosts events to raise money for several worthy causes.  What you may not know is that Glennpeter provides the venue and food at no charge to the event organizer or charity!  We even donate 100% of the bar sales directly to the charity.

Our owner, Jeff Weiss, worked with an architect to create a beautiful space that could be used for many purposes.  Not only did they want to display the jewelry in the best light, but they also wanted to create a space that could be used for charity fundraising events. The Diamond Centre features a bar, fireplace, and cozy sitting area that converts to space for a small band to play when the chairs and coffee table are moved.

Event organizers are offered an event gift package which includes the beautiful venue accommodating up to 200 people, a donated menu of hot and cold food items, event promotion on social media and the Glennpeter website, and a cash bar serving wine, beer, soda and water with 100% of beverage sales during the event donated to the charity. We will also donate a princess party (valued at $200), a wine tasting party (valued at $1,500) or a design and wine party (valued at $500) for use in a raffle or silent auction.

What’s the catch?  There is none! This is our way of giving back to the communities in which we do business. We truly enjoy working with organizations, families, and individuals in our community to help raise money for those in need.

Stop by the Diamond Centre and visit our “Wall of Love,” which showcases tiles created by not-for-profits who have held events with us.  Our charities have ranged from the American Cancer Society, to Big Brothers Big Sisters, to animal shelters, to individuals and families who needed assistance.  Previous events have included live music or a DJ, guest speakers, silent auctions and raffles, a cartoonist, photo booths, and an event photographer snapping memories of the event.

If you have a cause that you’d like to raise money for, we encourage you to contact our Events Coordinator, Paula Pierro, at 518-689-3670.  Paula will work closely with you to determine a date and time for your event, along with any special requests you may have. We are open to your ideas to make your event a huge success!
